Quick post, with the new release of Ubuntu 8.04 they've changed how trash files are handled and stored; so if you have a problem emptying your Trashcan look below.
Any deleted files will now be located in...
/home/[user]/.local/share/Trash

I have files & directories in the trash which cannot be deleted so I went to the console, I use rm -rf [files]. Thanks.
