I'm probably wrong and everything, but last night I got an update of Firefox 3 thru the Synaptic package manager on Ubuntu Hardy and now it sort of looks like it's out early.

Firefox3

Any ideas?

Same here. Upgraded my Xubuntu box and got Firefox 3. However I also noticed that RC2 that I have on a Windows box also says "Firefox Version 3.0" in the About window -- no mention of release candidate anywhere. It says "Gecko/2008052906" whereas the one from Ubuntu says Gecko/2008060309. Maybe RC3 that was released a few days ago? Or maybe RC3 == Gold release?

think you may be on to something there, well I just got an email from Mozilla stating the download day will be June 17th 2008 so by then we'll be up & running the gold edition.

it would be soo good if everyone who has Firefox 2 switches over to 3, considering all the extra's it packs in.

    Just ran an ACID test on browsers: Firefox 2 = 56%,Safari 3 = 75%, IE7 = 13%, IE6 = 3 !!

It appears to be RC1, as this is the actual package coming down:

    3.0~rc1+nobinonly-0ubuntu0.8.04.1

download day doesn't begin till 6pm over here, shame, have to wait a bit longer till it's out over here.
